Focus on Education and Awareness: 1990–1999

Recognizing the importance of education and awareness, Venu launched educational videos in 1990 and introduced a Diploma in Optometry. The early 1990s saw a geographic expansion with the initiation of new peripheral centers in Bulandshahr and Pataudi. Technological upgrades were also made, most notably with the launch of a fully equipped Mobile Eye Care Van in 1992. Satellite hospitals began to appear in various locations like Dhankot, Palwal, and Sonipat, scaling the institute’s outreach programs.

In a landmark year, 1994, several pivotal events occurred. The institute adopted the Phaco technique in its Base Hospital and launched short-term cataract training programs. Moreover, it garnered international attention when Lady Thatcher visited the base hospital. This was also the year when the International Federation of Tissue Banks became an institutional partner.
